Exploring Your Patterns

This practice is two practices in one. The first round is holding each pose for one breath as we move through the sequence and the second round is holding the same poses but for ten breaths each time. We move through the sun salutations slowly, counting the full five breaths for each movement. The challenge in this class is not the poses but rather noticing the mind and our resistance to doing things differently.

This can either be done as a stand-alone class or as Day 9 of Cultivate Your Inner Teacher 14-Day Intermediate Yoga Challenge.

Likely my comments are more a reflection on me than on the teacher or practice, but this one was not for me, so said my inner teacher!

-The first part felt like speed yoga, not even a full breath, almost as if I was marking the poses as a dancer or actor might in a run-through.
-The second part felt more like a regular flow which allowed me to enter in and out of the poses more fully.

Also, I think someone else mentioned the audio? It was hard to hear Joni, even at full volume and without any music playing.

This class was phenomenal- it was thoughtfully prepared, a wonderful mental exploration, and the music to accompany it was perfect. Thank you for sharing this practice!

I had to make a pause after the first Savasana for something unexpected and then come back after some hours. The teaching was really deep I enjoy doing some activities fast and the second part was an invitation to really love the slowness of the life process itself. Thanks Jonni-Lyn for such a wonderful class.
