I am struggling with breathing in that if I follow the time in the instruction I become short of breath. Is this unusual?

No that's not unusual. Sometimes the pace is not suitable for certain people. I imagine you're needing to take an extra breath here and there and that's fine.

Good class. Was hoping for a few more poses in the flow once it got going. It was more challenging than it looked though.
