I tried this class while sheltering in place with my partner and can't say enough good things about it. I am not really plus size, my partner is, and we both loved the class and intend to try more from Helen. Helen's clear, compassionate, and inspiring instructions made this a lovely class even when we were not feeling very motivated. My shoulders are the first place I notice changes when I'm inactive, and they felt amazing after this class. I'll definitely be repeating it.
Before we all went inside, my regular yoga practice almost never incorporated flowing through poses. I really struggled with video classes that often emphasize flowing transitions, especially without anyone to advise me. Helen suggested approaches to some poses and transitions that had *never* really worked for me before, and I'm so grateful. My partner had their regular exercise interrupted and now they're inside, stressed like everyone, and learning about yoga from nothing but videos and me! Having inclusive classes that talk about my partner's body and practice (and mine!) with such love and respect means the world to me. Thank you so much, Helen and DYWM.
LIFE CHANGING! I am so thankful to have come across these! I have a larger body with old injuries top to bottom from competitive sports. It is so encouraging to be able to see and learn these modifications to get a full release in each area of my body and in my joints! I am so so so thankful! THANK YOU, HELEN!
I loved this class. Never come across plus-sized yoga before but it was a lovely reminder of how yoga is for everyone and can easily be adapted to suit different body shapes. Helen is a great teacher, confident, inspiring and motivating.
Wow. Such a great reminder to find/use/discover more space in order to be kinder to our bodies. Very often absent from many teachers who don't face these challenges of having body parts in the way. I really enjoyed this class.
