In this short video, David shows you how you can use the PNF technique to release the psoas and iliopsoas, which are key hip flexor muscles. Because it lifts the leg forward, the psoas can be very tight in those who sit a lot, run or cycle.

I know I could google an anatomy chart for the muscles in the pnf vids to get a better sense and *understanding* of what I am stretching, but consider adding a visual at intro to future videos. I find all these vids helpful.

I think I need to do a bit more reading on PNF as I was a bit confused. Great to have access to these individual stretches.

Wow, never done this pose with PNF, how do I turn off the front part of my leg and activate the glute? Is there a mod? Thanks!

All you need to do is activate the glute before you move into the stretch, then make sure the glute is active throughout. This will encourage the nervous system to turn off the hip flexors.
