Yoga for Absolute Beginners: Sun Salutations
Now that you know how to sit comfortably, David takes you through one of the most common movements in yoga, called a sun salutation. He shows you ways to adapt the sequence to your needs so you can join any class, anywhere, whether it's another class on this site or in a local yoga studio. This class is a part of a 'Yoga for Beginners' series. Moksana Yoga Studio donated their space for the filming of this class.

Thank you David. I tend to hyperventilate when I follow along with most videos, I think because the movements between poses are too fast for my normal respiration rate, but I don't have as much difficulty with your videos. I do wonder if you've worked at all with people who suffer with vertigo (positional and possibly also a mild case of Meniere's in my case). If so, do you find that the vertigo they have during the routine improves like strength and flexibility does as they practice more? Vertigo during some poses is pretty unpleasant. I'm just wondering if I can expect it to get better or if I should assume this will be something I'll just need to live with.
David is wonderful at explaining everything in this video. Loved this practice for YTT.
David: First, as a totally new person starting yoga, I appreciate everything shown to me thus far. Some comments---I personally have difficulty in hearing you, especially6 when you lower your head/face. Second, would like the 'meaning' of the art behind you with the primary/secondary colors? Also, the meaning of the characters inside--what does it say/mean? Third and finally, would like to know if you personally are a Ukrainian or Russian. I am 100% Ukrainian. Thank you sir. This sun salutation class is such a great addition to the return to yoga series for seniors. I needed just a little more.... and there you are! Thank you David and the DO YOGA WITH ME family.
