Question : First Thank you ! I was surprised to find knee soreness, haven't had it for a long while since I stopped squatting down so much(preschool teacher).
but when I do the straight leg/ flexed foot stretch here; the back of the heel/low ankle hurts (like a sharp spark kind of pain) - just started this in the past few weeks when doing certain moves which are usually fine. Will this class also help this problem? or might there be another stretch to do as well?

(HIps are tight (have always been) , probably whole leg on right side.) Thanks so much for this!!!!

Hi Heather,

As someone who has also spent years teaching little people I can relate to the repetive quats and the sore knees. The ankle and heel sensation you are feeling may be related to this as our bodies like to compensate to support areas in strain. Another point to note is that the lower leg, knee to achilles tendon and into the heel, are often really tight and not accustom to stretching, so this may be something to ease into and allow for time to create space. When I hear the description of sharp pain, that is usually an indication that care or easing away from a movement is needed, it is different from a sweet discomfort. Perhaps try some gentle ways to lean into opening this area of the leg before moving into poses that feel like they are aggravating pain. downward dog, with a focus of opening more from the knee to the heel, than the hamstrings, is a great starting point.

Thank you for the comments, everyone! I'm glad you like the video. Victoria, in response to your question, yes this class would be great for you. It's very gentle and great for injuries.

I had a knee trauma more then ten years ago (meniscus fracture). Usually, the knees feel good. But after regular physical activity (including yoga) and in wet or cold weather begin painful. Sometimes the leg twists and I hear a crunch in the knees and start painful. These situations are most likely a sprain or injury to the ligaments.
Is this video good in this case? Or can you recommend another video?
Thank you so much!!!

Thank you, thank you, THANK you David for this wonderful class. I'm only 28 and having a hard time accepting that I cannot do any of the yoga or movements that I usually do, as I had surgery on my torned ACL a few weeks ago. I feel very grateful that I at least can do this practice and feel the benefits, and how my injured knee relaxes, instantly. Have returned to this class several times already, and will continue to do so.
